Streams of Holiness

God’s Word for us today is Matthew 1:18-25, James 1:19-22

“You must understand this, my beloved: let everyone be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger; for your anger does not produce God’s righteousness.  Therefore rid yourselves of all sordidness and rank growth of wickedness, and welcome with meekness the implanted word that has the power to save your souls.  But be doers of the word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves.” James 1:19-22

The word holiness makes us think of people who are kind of out of touch with the real world, and expressions like “holier than thou” suggest something negative.  What does God’s call to holiness really mean and how does it play out in our daily lives?
