Pastor Steve Whitney continues the story of Gideon with Judges 7:1-8
“The LORD said to Gideon, “The troops with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hand. Israel would only take the credit away from me, saying, ‘My own hand has delivered me.’” - Judges 7:2
Gideon gathered an army of 32,000 to deliver his people from oppression. But God sent 31,700 of them home. God said they’d take the credit if they had a big army – instead of giving the glory and honor to God. Where do you think we take credit for God’s work in our lives?
