Getting Involved at Trinity

E-mail Print

Our church is forever growing and we are blessed by the opportunity to provide a safe place for everyone to worship, hear the Word, and seek the will of God. We are always in need of volunteers in adult ministry, children's ministries, music, hospitality, visitation, technology, building & yard maintenance, and administration as well in areas of service to the community.

How to Connect

Do you know your spiritual gifts?  Follow these three easy steps

  1. Take a short test!
  2. Compare your gifts to our Service Opportunities.
  3. Please let us know. You can ask anyone with a name badge on Sunday, talk to the Pastor, or just write a note to us by email about your desire to serve.

Out of the Box Ministries

Trinity Presbyterian Food Ministry… Code Name “Out of the Box Ministries”. On March 2, 2008, Trinity Presbyterian Church launched a new Ministry providing boxes of food for local families. Thanks to the efforts of many people, the initial inauguration of our new ministry was a success. The first month, we made two deliveries: 1) our pilot project provided six boxes of food to area families; 2) our second delivery was to 10 Alyce Norman Elementary school families. Our hope is that we can continue to supplement these families' pantries on a monthly basis. During this pilot month, session has approved space and cabinets for food storage - and a willingness to expand the program. Our ongoing hope is to develop our capabilities as a caring organization to deliver more food, more care, and more love to more families.

FoodPack

On an ongoing basis, this ministry will need money, concern, creativity, and prayer. Take a minute this month to think about hunger and the effects each of us might have on an individual, on a family, on a community. Then think about some things that you could do to help or some people you could contact who would be interested in helping.

  • Maybe you could donate $4.50 this month and provide 25 pounds of food to the program.
  • Maybe you could donate $180 to the program to deliver 1000 pounds of food.
  • Maybe you have a truck or SUV and can help ‘shop’ for the food in the afternoon
  • Maybe you can help with packing boxes every third Sunday (click here to see pictures of food packing)
  • Maybe you can help with delivering boxes.
  • Maybe you have a minute during your commute to think about friends who might want to help, or
  • Know about a family that could benefit from this ministry.

The possibilities are endless but the success of this ministry is contingent on God's will and Trinity Presbyterian Church bringing their talents, gifts, and creativity. Let's see what a little footwork can do!

Sincerely, Kevin Hansen Email Out of the Box

What is Stewardship?

E-mail Print

At Trinity Church, Stewardship is a committee of Church members that serves the Congregation to encourage Generosity and Charity.  We do this by first teaching that members should invest their Time, Talent, and Treasures in the Church.  Because, if a Christian can first be Charitable and Generous within the Church that serves him/her, then that Christian can go out into the world with that same spirit.  We believe this is the right thing to do and the Word of God teaches us to do this for our growth as Good People.  All humankind is the beneficiary of a wonderful earthly treasure.  But God has given even more generously to his people:

“We all live off his generous bounty, gift after gift after gift…. This exuberant giving and receiving, this endless knowing and understanding – all this came through Jesus, the Messiah.” (John 1:16-17 MSG)

We must remember from whom all our blessing flow. God reminds us that all that we have is not our own, because what we have comes from and belongs to God:

“To the LORD your God belong the heavens, even the highest heavens, the earth and everything in it.” (Deuteronomy 10:14 NIV)

A Steward is a person who manages another's property, financial, or other affairs; one who administers a thing as the agent of another or others. In the case of Christians, we care for and look after God's property until Jesus Christ returns.  We do this because we are the Body of Christ acting in the world and we are entrusted to the management of the Church and the care of his property.  This is taught by Matthew 25:14-30, and is well summarized by the following verse:

“Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his property to them.” (Matthew 25:14 NIV)

And so, Stewardship is not just a committee of people but also the commitment made by all Christians.  A commitment made to care for what is Gods.  We Christians do this by being Generous and Charitable with our Time, Talents, and Treasures doing good first for our Church and then taking that spirit out into the world. This is a worshipful act as a response to all that God has given to us.

Step Up to God's Challenge

"The Lord gives us guidance on finances? No way!"

"You bet! Next to the kingdom of God, Jesus spoke about money almost as often. 'For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.' That's Luke 12:34. Anyway, the point is that money is a big deal, so why wouldn't our savior want to save us from the power it can have on us?"

"Great. What else does the bible say about MY money?"

"Well, a lot, but here's a great verse about what He can do for those that trust in his provision..."
